Banner Elk is a quaint little town in Avery County and home to both Sugar Ski and Beech Mountain Ski resorts. Banner Elk has several high end gated communities and is typically the quieter of the three main towns (Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk). Elk River Club is a very upscale community and club with one of the most incredible golf courses, equestrian facility, and private airport/landing strip. Eagles Nest is another more rustic, luxurious community with private fishing waters, hiking/ATV trails, outdoor amphitheatre, helicopter landing site & much more – they don’t have a “club” or restaurant but they do put on several events/concerts where they use the outdoor kitchens at the pavilions. Other nice communities include, Fox Meadow Farm, The Farm and Banner Grande. In Banner Elk, you’ll find some beautiful views, great fishing, hiking, and landmarks such as Elk Falls which you won’t want to miss.
